schools suck ass. that is the way it goes. there is no two parts about it. after going and talking to the people at tech it looks like I wont be going there for my PhD, at least this fall. They had already filled the 3 or so spots they were going to take. fortunately, unlike last year, they are taking mid-year applications. that means that if I want i can try again then. the downside is that by then I will have to apply again, which will cost money. Also, I will have to basically get a prof in my back pocket before I try again. I don't know if I can try to get some part-time research, or maybe some feeble attempt at writing a grant in order to swing things my way, all I know is this sucks. I'd better go check to make sure that I am still graduating.
